SO...for our first event, we wanted to do something a little more private and intimate to have the change to hang out when we aren't squabbling over who to fund and actually spend some quality time with our grantees and make them feel like a part of our community. Basically, we invited all our trustees, a couple of people who are interested in becoming trustees, grantees, and gave all a plus one. We did it potluck style for beer/wine, appetizers, and dessert and used some excess money leftover from our last grant to buy some. Overall, the semi-private picnic was a great time and really built a lot of solidarity and fellowship among the the Awesome NYC community. I highly recommend it as a genre of event to pursue. " | ||
